World environment day-2012 observed at Jahangirnagar University (JU)
today with great enthusiasm. JU VC Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain inaugurated the
program by planting a tree. He also inaugurated the lily plantation
program & water purifier project of JU.
Following this, a colorful rally started in front of the academic building lead by JU VC that ended behind the Al-beruni hall of JU. A large number of teachers & students joined in that rally.
Students carried many placards like `Save environment, plant tree`, `No alternative of tree plantation to save environment`, `Save environment, live long life` in the rally.
Pro-VC Prof. Dr. Md. Forhad Hossain, Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Nasir Uddin gave their speeches as the special guest of the program.
The program was directed by president of World Environment Day Celebration Committee Prof. Dr. Abul Khayer. President of JUTA Prof. Dr. A A Mamun, Doctor of officers association Dr. A T M Abdul Hannan, President of Environment Science Dept. Prof. Dr. Shafi Muhammad Tareq, Professor of Botany Department Dr. Feroja Hossain, Professor of Zoology Department Professor Dr. Md. Rafiqun Nabi also gave their speeches at the program.
