ASA University Bangladesh (ASAUB): About the University

VISION
The vision of ASAUB is to: (i) develop itself as one of the few great universities in this part of the world and as an abode of excellence in higher education that will attract meritorious students, highly qualified teachers, scholars and researchers (ii) improve the socio-economic condition and the life-style of the people of Bangladesh by offering higher education, research facilities and life skills to the growing generations who would use these for facing the challenges environment of the 21st century and (iii) use the latest ideas and developments in the field of education and research in order to enrich the academic achievements of Bangladesh.

MISSION
The mission of ASAUB is to offer programs of study appropriate to the needs of the 21st century which are related to progressive activities directly contributing to the socio-economic upliftment and empowerment of the people of the country, development of skilled manpower and inculcation of social and moral values among the youths of Bangladesh. Thus to play a role in poverty alleviation through education is one of the main concerns of ASAUB.

SCOPE
ASAUB works within laws to provide education, research and training, to confer degrees, diplomas and certificates in different branches of knowledge, and to disseminate knowledge in different fields of science and technology, humanities and business, social sciences and law. The level of education includes undergraduate and graduate programs and may extend to research degrees like M.Phil and Ph.D


ASAUB is an institution of higher education absolutely dedicated to quality education at affordable cost. It is a relatively new university and prides itself on its focus on career planning and employability of its graduates. ASAUB stands for academic and professional excellence.

ASAUB began teaching with a batch of academics who, enriched by professionalism, technology and research opportunities, provide strong support to the students who are committed to explore their academic potential in a fascinating learning environment. The academics are devoted to enrich classroom learning through real-world activities such as internships, fieldwork, and lab works and to ensure students career success after the completion of their study. In ASAUB campus, there is a rich library in which the collection of books reflects the courses taught here as well as the study areas and provide access to computing resources. ASAUB follows the North American system of trimesters, credit hours, letter grades, and one examiner. The curricula of each program, when first introduced, were proposed by ASAUB, and reviewed by the experts of UGC and then duly approved by UGC. The curricula are regularly reviewed and updated to include latest developments in each area of study and adapted to the current requirements and local needs. ASAUB open a program only after due approval by UGC.

Financial Waiver & Scholarships

ASAUB wants to attract meritorious students, irrespective of financial circumstances, which is why it offers a large number of waivers and scholarships to full- time undergraduate students. Waivers are designed to provide financial assistance to help students support themselves in course of their study in the university, while scholarships aim to reward academic excellence. ASAUB offers financial supports to students considering the following conditions such as:

Need Based Scholarship

ASAUB provides financial assistance to those students who are brilliant but are facing constrain to continue their study due to financial insolvency. They should be talents and ambitious to obtain higher education and do something for their parents and for the country.

Merit Based Scholarship

ASAUB offers scholarships to those who have proved their talent throughout their academic life. ASAUB offers Merit Based scholarship to those who meet the following requirements

• For Undergraduate Students
  • Students securing GPA 4.00 in semester result will get 25% tuition fee waiver.
  • Students securing GPA 3.75-3.99 in semester result will get 15% tuition fee waiver.
• For Postgraduate Students
  • Candidates with 4 Year BBA having CGPA 3.75 and above (on the scale of 4.00) will get 20% tuition fee waiver as MBA students
  • Candidates with Masters having all through first classes will get 25% tuition fee waiver
  • Candidates with Masters having 3 first classes or graduates having all through first classes will get 15% tution fee waiver
  • Semester Result: At last 4 courses, GPA 4.00 out of 4.00 get 20% waiver (Waiver will be counted on fixed 4 courses)

Corporate Financial Waiver for MBA, MA, and LL.M

ASAUB believes that if Bangladesh can produce truly educated and skilled manpower for each organization of the country, then we can one day overcome poverty and become a developed nation. To that end in view ASAUB offers certain financial assistance to those who want to enrich themselves along with their organization, which are given below:

• If a minimum number of 4 employees (permanent/non-permanent/contractual) from the same organization takes admission at a time and continue, each will get 25% tuition fee waiver.
• If a minimum number of 3 employees (permanent /non-permanent/contractual) from the same organization takes admission at a time and continue, each will get 20% tuition fee waiver.

Sibling Financial Waiver

A student will become the member of ASAUB family as soon as she / he enters ASAUB. As a part of social responsibility, ASAUB always takes care of its family members. ASAUB offers 25% tuition fee waiver in all programs for spouse and siblings.

Waiver to Children of ASA Members and Staff

ASAUB does not take care only of the ASAUB students but also of others who are associated with ASA and ASA International. To honour the Sponsors of ASAUB, it offers special waiver in all programs for the children of ASA members and staff.

ASA University Bangladesh: Tuition and other fees information

Considering the convenience of the student and the guardians, ASAUB adopts flexible payment policy so that all the students can continue their study and appear at the examinations smoothly. ASAUB considers the socio-economic condition of most of the parents of the students and has adopted a convenient payment policy for the student

The tuition fees are subject to revision. While the university will take all reasonable steps to avoid large increase in tuition fees, it reserves the right to implement such increase in fees it deems appropriate. Normally a student already admitted under the existing fee structure at the time of his admission shall not be subject to pay the changed fees. In deciding upon increase in tuition fees, the university will take into consideration such factors as inflation, market competition, government and funding council policy, and other external factors. Students on certain programs may be permitted to arrange to pay these fees under the university's installment scheme. The university has no obligation to assist students with fees, except where these are paid as part of a scholarship or award made by the university. The payment of fees is the responsibility of the student.

In the event of a student's sponsoring authority failing to make payment, the student will be held personally liable for payment. ASA University Bangladesh: Admission Information

Admission Information

To enter an undergraduate program in ASAUB, the applicant must satisfy:

• The university's general minimum requirement for getting admission.
• Minimum requirement for each of the individual program.

ASAUB admits students with the potential of pursuing higher education. It welcomes applications from the students regardless of their gender, religion, age, race, national origin, social background, marital or parental status and disability. It is also committed to the principles of widening participation and encouraging applicants from disadvantaged and underprivileged backgrounds. It may be noted that admission in some of our programs is very competitive and fulfilling the minimum requirement does not guarantee admission. ASAUB generally follow a policy of limiting the number of seats in a program which means that some students having eligibility often may not get admission.

General Requirements

Students who have passed SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations with at least two 2nd divisions or minimum GPA 2.5 in each (on the scale of 5) may apply for admission. For 'A' level students, at least 5 subjects in 'O' level with minimum GPA 2.5 and 2 subjects in 'A' level with minimum GPA 2.5 (A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 & E=1. Only one E is acceptable.) are required. Emphasis on Business English

Students securing low marks in English in the Admission test shall have to undergo a vigorous training in English through English Language Proficiency Course on payment an additional affordable fee of Tk. 6000/= for entire semester.
