IDB-BISEW IT Scholarship
Requirements:
· Candidates Must be citizen of Bangladesh By faith Muslim
· Must possess at least a graduation or Fazil degree, or a diploma in Civil Engineering/Architecture/Survey
· Secured at least 2nd division (CGPA 2.5) in both SSC and HSC examinations
Individuals for whom any one of the following conditions hold true may not apply for the IT Scholarship:
Persons having degree in any one of the following disciplines:
Computer Science or equivalent, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Bio-Chemistry, Applied Physics & Electronics, Agricultural Engineering, Leather Technology, B.Ed, etc.
Persons who would need to be engaged in any other institutional programme of studies in parallel with the training of the IT Scholarship programme
Application collection and submission deadline: 21 June, 2012
Selected candidates list for written exam will be published in the daily Ittefaq on 10th July, 2012.

Interested applicants shall have to apply for the scholarship by buying the official application forms for Tk. 100 from any branch of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd and submitting the filled in forms by courier to IDB-BISEW’s address as printed on the envelope included in the application materials. The applicant shall retain with him/her the official admit card enclosed with the application materials.

Applicants shall first have to pass Aptitude Test conducted for IT Scholarship programme. As the last step in the selection procedure, candidates successful in the Aptitude Test have to appear in a brief interview. Candidates are finally selected if they successfully clear the interview.
2. What is meant by the Aptitude Test?
In order to assess the basic aptitude of the candidate, the Project Authority would conduct a written test lasting 45 minutes, in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) format. The test basically seeks to evaluate a candidate’s problem solving abilities.
3. Is there any pass mark in the test?
There is no pass or fail marks for the test. Instead a percentile ranking system is used for selecting successful candidates.

Months long high-end IT training programme a monthly allowance and employment assistance for all trainees each scholarship has the market value of at least Tk. 2.5 Lac. Vendor cirtifcate value is 50000/-
Every trainee receives a monthly allowance of Tk. 2,000 for the duration of the training.
The intensive training programme equips the participant with in-depth knowledge and cutting-edge skills necessary to excel in a wide variety of IT jobs.

JATRI Fellowship 2012 on Investigative Reporting
Journalism Training and Research Initiative (JATRI), BRAC University is devoted to improve the state of journalism in Bangladesh by providing training and support to journalists and to researchers investigating social and economic issues of importance to society. We are announcing “JATRI Fellowship 2012” to encourage journalists and Media professionals to create Investigative Reports.
Journalists and Media Professionals from print, radio, broadcast and online are encouraged to apply. The fellowship will provide these journalists with time, funding and mentors that will enable them to strengthen their skills and gain valuable experience in investigating issues of importance to the general public. The deadline for application submission is 12 December, 2011 (Monday).
Relevant Information of JATRI Fellowship 2012:
· Applicant must demonstrate a familiarity with and interest in Government audit.
· This fellowship will be given to six journalists and media professionals (print, radio, broadcast and online).
· The period of the fellowship is six months.
· At least two investigative reports need to be prepared by each fellow within the time period.
· Three proposals of investigative reports have to be submitted with the application.
· Two samples published/broadcasted investigative reports need to be submitted.
· Five years working experience is required.
· Experienced certificate and acknowledgement letter (signed by the respective officials from the media houses) has to be submitted.
· CV/Bio-data along with recent photograph needs to be submitted.
