Master`s Students of the Department of Statistic, Jagannath University continued their demonstration for the second day on Monday on the campus demanding revaluation of their results, which published recently. They also demanded removal of department chairman Prof Ashraf-ul-Alam as this is the first time in Jagannath University history that 56 students failed in Masters Examination.
Wearing black badges, students of 2008-09 academic session held a human chain in front of the university Shaheed Minar around 11.30am that lasted for one an half hours.
Meanwhile, university authority on Monday formed a five-member investigation committee headed by Law faculty dean, Prof Dr Ali Akkas to probe into the irregularities of the department.
Students from all sessions of the department also expressed their solidarity with the demonstration and boycotted classes and examinations for the day.
