All the examinations of Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) will remain postpone till January 26. The decision was taken at an academic council meeting presided by the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Saleh Uddin following the indefinite strike enforced by Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) of SUST unit on Thursday.
Protesting the indefinite strike enforced by SUST ICS, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of SUST, Sylhet district and metropolitan unit brought out a stage procession from the university's food court premises that paraded the whole campus including Sylhet-Sunamganj road and ended in front of the university's main gate where a rally was held.
It is mentioned here that, at least 25 persons injured in a clash between BCL and ICS of SUST unit on January 11. Later SUST ICS decided to observe indefinite strike not implementing their three point demands including exemplary punishment of BCL leaders and activists. Therefore class and examination have not held and the presence of the teacher and student are not much in the campus.
