In an unusual move, the University of Dhaka has decided to hold 'Ga' Unit admission tests again amid controversy over test papers at the original examination.
Vice-chancellor A A M S Arefin Siddique told bdnews24.com on Saturday night that the university had cancelled the results of the first test.
"The results were revaluated after examinees requested, since mistakes were found in the question papers," he said.
"We took this decision when more requests came flooding in."
The decision was taken at a late-night meeting of the university deans' committee.
On Nov 2, the university announced that the results published on Oct 31 had been revaluated and 194 candidates in the first 1,000 had been replaced.
The test was held on Oct 28, in which 37,480 candidates took part for admission to 980 seats in the university's Faculty of Business Studies.
The vice-chancellor said the examinees would be able to sit for the retake exams with their old admit cards.
Those who have lost or damaged the admit cards would be able to reprint them from the university website www.du.ac.bd, he added.
