ADMISSION: ENGINEERING PROGRAMS-2011

1. Engineering Programs. B.Sc in (i) Civil Engineering (ii) Computer Science and Engineering (iii) Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineering (iv) Mechanical Engineering and (v) Aeronautical Engineering. 

2. Qualification to Apply

a. SSC and HSC Examination (or Equivalent). Science group with GPA 4.00 in a 5-point scale in both the examinations. In HSC/Alim/equivalent examination the applicant must have obtained minimum “A” grade in any two subjects out of four subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry & English) and minimum “A-” (A minus) grade in rest two subjects.

b. GCE “O” and “A” Levels (or Equivalent). Qualified in minimum five subjects including Pure Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English Language with minimum “B” grade in average in GCE “O” Level and three subjects including Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with minimum “B” grades separately in GCE “A” level.

c. Passed HSC/ Equivalent not before 2010.

3. Eligibility for Written Admission Test

a. Candidates will be short-listed on the basis of total GPA of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one-third GPA of English earned in HSC/Alim/equivalent examination. Approximately 2000 (two thousands) short listed candidates will be allowed for written test.

b. All eligible candidates with GCE “O” and “A” Levels (or equivalent) background and all eligible candidates against reserved seats.

4. Selection Criteria for Admission

a. Written Admission Test of 3 hours duration for 200 marks (Maths-80, Physics-60, Chemistry-40 and English-20 from syllabus of HSC examination 2011)-75%.

b. Total GPA of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of HSC/Alim/ “A” level/equivalent examination -15%.

c. GPA of SSC/Dakhil examination (without 4th subject)/ “O” level/equivalent - 10%.

5. Required Documents to Submit.    As mentioned in the Prospectus available in MIST website (www.mist.ac.bd) and in MIST Admission Desk (hard copy).

6. Application Form Submission. Application is to be submitted on-line through internet from MIST website (www.mist.ac.bd) by paying taka 600 (six hundred only) from Tele Talk Prepaid mobile phone. Necessary instructions in respect of filling up the E-application will be available in the Prospectus. Further clarification may be sought from MIST Admission Desk (8000266/01556565566/01769023896) from 0800 to 1700 hours in all working days from 02 October to 31 October 2011. 

7. Important Dates

a. On-Line Submission  of Application Form. From 02 October to 31 October 2011 (up to 1700 hours Bangladesh Time).

b. Publication of List of Eligible Candidates to Appear Written Admission Test.  List will be published in MIST website and notice board on 15 November 2011.

c. Written Admission Test. At 0900 hours on 25 November 2011 (Friday).

d. Publication of List of Selected Candidates for Admission. The list will be notified in the MIST notice board and website by 05 December 2011.
