Applications for the 12th batch of Japan Development Scholarship (JDS) 2013-2014 have been invited.
It was disclose in a seminar held at the auditorium of Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC) in Savar on Monday last.
Hiroto Sobajima, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan was present.
Among others, Shigeki Furuta, Senior Representative of JICA, Hosne Ara Begum NDC, Additional Secretary, Member, Directing Staff (P&S), of BPATC officials of EOJ, JICA and JICE were present in the seminar.
This seminar was jointly organized by ERD and JICE.
Sobajima called for the young government officials of Bangladesh, who are interested to pursue their higher education in Japan, to apply for the 12th Batch JDS programme.
Application deadline for the 12th batch JDS program is October 4, 2012 (before or on 17:00 hours).
The recruitment has already been started from 5 August 2012. Detail information is available in the website:

Minimum qualifications for JDS programme are: members of BCS Cadre (Bangladesh Civil Service) and Bangladesh Bank Class-1 Officers with age, below 40 and 2 years of work experience.
JDS offers fellowship in the fields of: Public Administration, Economics, Environmental Policy and International Relations in the Master’s level at Japanese universities.
JDS program is offered in 13 countries throughout the world including Bangladesh

JDS was established by the government of Bangladesh with the Japanese government assistance in 2001.
So far, a total of 213 JDS fellows have been sent to Japan and 170 fellows have already come back to Bangladesh with their accomplishments and ambitions for their contribution to the development of Bangladesh.
Another seminar on JDS will be held at ERD on Thursday.
