General Requirements
Application forms
Application forms are available at: House - 56, Road - 4/A, Dhanmondi, Dhaka-1209, and are available for download in the Quicklinks to the left.
A complete application includes:
1. One Application form.
2. Four passport-sized color photographs, duly attested.
3. Attested copies of all certificates and mark-sheets.
4. Testimonial/letter of recommendation from institution last attended on their official pad/letterhead.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any applicant who gives false information during the application process will be immediately disqualified from the application process or summarily dismissed from the university.
Minimum Qualifications for Undergraduate Admission
1. Minimum second division or minimum 2.5 GPA in each of SSC and HSC, or
2. University of London GCE "O" level in 4 (four) subjects with average of 2.5 and "A" Level in two subjects with an average GPA of 2.5 .
3. Equivalent performance in other educational systems (e.g. IB or American High School Diploma) may be accepted, subject to the decision of ULAB's Equivalence Committee.
4. Acceptable performance on Admission Test. See below for details.
Transfer of credits from comparable educational institutions may be considered after admission. Rules on credit transfer are available from the Admissions ’s Office.
Admission test
ULAB will call applicants who meet the minimum eligibility requirements for an Admission Test, which will comprise of a written test and, in some cases, a departmental interview. The written test has two parts:
Part 1 contains multiple-choice questions covering English language, mathematics, and logical reasoning.
Part 2 is a test of written English.
Note: Students with a GPA of at least 4.5 or a combined score of at least 1100 in the SAT Reasoning Test are exempt from the written part of the Admission Test but may still be called for an interview.
