About NSTU
Noakhali Science and Technology University is in the beginning of its age and expending its activites to spread the light of mordern education of Science and Technology and practising wisdom in every field of knowledge in the greater Noakhali.

NSTU is the fourth in the twelve such universities the then elected Al Government has decided in 1997 to establish in the twelve erswhile greater districts where there was no university. And after that an act was authored by the parliament in 15 July, 2001, the act number was-41 with the entitlement of “Legislation for the establishment of Noakhali Science and Technology University”, where there was a clear notion for the reason behind establishment, saying,

“Because to keep pace with the present advanced Science and Technology dependent world and to gain equality and higher education and culture of modern knowledge in National level, Specially giving proper importance in Science and Technology, reading-teaching, and creating and expanding scope for research a university naming “Noakhali Science and Technology University” is appropriate and necessary to establish at Salla and Noakhali mouza in greater Noakhali district”. But it was a matter of disappointment that the then caretaker Government (2001) postponed the act with the interference of invisible power before gazette notification. And in 2003 the next elected Government revived the act and only approved 3 of them Patukhali Science and Technology University, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University at Dinajupur and Moulana Bhashani Science and Technology University at Tangail that had started their activities then. After that, the then prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia laid the foundation stone of NSTU on 11 October 2003. It has been built at sonapur 9 kilometer South-west of Maijdee. It has a land area of 100 acors covering 93 Salla and 95 Noakhali Mouza. Its construction work was formally inaugurated on 24 March 2005.

Add –1 NSTU started its academic activities formally on 22 June 2006 with 4 departments, 14 teachers, and 184 students. Moreover, at present, there are 29 teachers, 695 students, and 139 employees who are breathing new lives into this vast coastal area.

Add –2 But at preliminary Stage Pharmacy, Fisheries and Marine Science, Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering, Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology are opend with the many other supporting subjects and 3 other supporting departments and Subjects and some other subjects are on process to open.

Add –3 Walking on this pavement NSTU is now going to be enriched its appearance and expanded its fascilities and activities to be the centre of excellence and wisdom.
