Founder Vice Chancellor Gold Medal Award or in brief FVC Gold Medal Award.

Background history

National Professor Dr Nurul Islam established the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC). The sponsoring body of the USTC is Janasheba Foundation of which Prof Islam is the Founder Chairman. While forwarding the name of National Professor Dr Nurul Islam to the Ministry for his appointment as Vice Chancellor, Prof Islam preferred to donate the entire amount of his salary to welfare fund. On the recommendation of the Janasheba Foundation, the Hon’ble President, PRB has appointed him as Vice Chancellor and he donates entire amount of his salary to welfare fund.

Aims and objectives

1. To recognize the merit of outstanding students who secure highest position in the final MBBS examination.
2. To help develop poor but meritorious students during pursuance of their courses.
3. To help development of manpower in the health profession.
4. To complement Government efforts in health care development.
5. To help purchase medical books, equipment and aids, etc.
6. Any other purposes to fulfil the objectives.
